Posted recently asking for advice, and wanted to genuinely thank all of you for the wonderful help! I’ve started planting some of the more basic plants in my aquarium, like Argentine sword, duckweed, Java fern, and water wisteria. Next week will bring a better CO2 injection system than the small tablets and diffuser I bought, as well as some more plants to fill in the background

First time aquascaping – need plant suggestions (60g, low-tech)

Hey all, this is my first time aquascaping and I’ll be honest—I could use all the help I can get.

Tank/setup:

•	60 gallon

•	Fluval AC70 + 40g sponge filter

•	Sand substrate with some gravel mixed in

•	No CO₂

Right now the tank is mostly silk plants, but I do have a few live ones (Java moss balls, dwarf hair grass, and one other I can’t remember).

I’m planning to heavily plant the tank with hardy, beginner-friendly species. I know the bubble wall isn’t ideal for planted tanks (girlfriend wanted it), so I’ll either turn it way down or remove it.

I don’t have a true LFS—just PetSmart/Petco—so it would help if suggestions are commonly available there. I’m open to ordering online too, just not sure where to look.

Current plan:

•	2–3 Amazon swords

•	3–5 Java ferns on driftwood

•	Some floating plants (if I can find them in SWFL)

Any advice or plant suggestions would be really appreciated.

TL;DR: 60g sand substrate, no CO₂, beginner aquascaper—what plants should I get?
