So I like opening up computers and laptops in my spare time. I'm no expert or anything, but I can screw off the back of a laptop and upgrade basic components like the ram and storage. Would buying a laptop without or with low ram/storage/etc and then transplanting my old parts be worth it? Ik ram and storage is through the roof these days so I was thinking it might be worth since the price of everything is included in buying stuff so theoretically I'd be saving a lot of money by doing it but also it's only 16gb 5600 ddr5 and a gen 3 1 tb nvme and maybe a used 32gb ddr4 workstation with a nice cpu/gpu or something would be more worth the money. I do stuff like 3d modelling/video editing/animation so the performance would be especially nice, but it's not like I absolutely need it.

Anyways, what do you guys think I should do? Just buy a regular laptop for the safety? Search for a semi-broken one to use my parts on? Do you guys know any places where I could find one(aside from just like crawling through ebay and whatnot ofc)?

As it says in the title. I feel like I see cats happen upon people a whole lot more than dogs. Why is it that a cat just decides it lives here now a bunch more than dogs? Or could it just be that my online algorithm is super cat centered and I'm just unaware of the dog distribution system portion of the internet?
