Grief

This artwork is inspired by an indie video game called GRIS, this game deeply moved me through its portrayal of grief and emotional transformation. What fascinates me most about GRIS is the way it weaves colour into emotion — red becoming anger, blue sinking into depression, and black embodying the darker parts of the self, the inner shadows we struggle to confront.

One moment from the game that stayed with me profoundly was that during the phase of anger, the protagonist battles her own black reflection, as though fighting the pain within herself. But eventually, she realises that rage consumes without healing. The intensity of red fades, and she descends into the quiet heaviness of blue — into depression, into silence, into surrender.

Through this artwork, I wanted to capture that emotional transition: the collapse of fury into emptiness, and the fragile humanity that exists between those states.

This piece is my interpretation of that journey.
