I’m planning to apply to the MEng Electrical and Computer Engineering (Software track) at the University of Calgary, and I had a few questions I was hoping current students or applicants could help with.
First, regarding the Letter of Intent - how detailed does it need to be? Are they looking more for a technical-focused statement (projects, experience, etc.), or a broader motivation + career goals type of essay? Any tips on what makes a strong LOI for this program would really help.
Also, how is the program overall in terms of quality, job prospects, and workload? I’d love to hear honest opinions - especially from people currently enrolled or who have graduated.
Lastly, how competitive is admission? I have a decent GPA and some relevant experience(international student), but I’m not sure where I stand compared to typical applicants.
