Hear me out. I know Light Pollution has been hugely detrimental for a variety of reasons but here's MY tin-foil-hat theory:

It's become way easier in society for tyrant industrialists and despots to force themselves onto the General Population because we can no longer look up at night and see the MASSIVE carpet of stars & the main band of the Milky Way Galaxy as we were once able to.

By literally obscuring the cosmos, Light Pollution has stunted our curiosity, our awe, and our sense of humility. I hope one day we can see the night skies again as they once were WITHOUT us having to experience something like an apocalypse to do so!
