In the west, comic artists often auction off their original pencils and inks. But as far as I can tell, this isn't a practice that other countries do.
Does anyone know what happens to the manuscripts? Is this something dictated culturally by the artist themself, or something that the publishers have control over?
I'm designing a couple of Japanese high school characters, and I wanted to do something in order to make each of their uniforms stand out. How much could a student modify their uniform without getting in trouble? I'm thinking things like flipped collars, pins, suspenders, etc.
