Impossible to root?
Hi everyone,
I have a ZTE W205DS tablet by China Telecom with a SIM card. It's essentially a cloud terminal that boots into a remote desktop environment by default.
DEVICE SPECS:
- Model: ZTE W205DS / codename P720P01
- Chipset: Unisoc T760 (ums9620_2h10)
- RAM: ~6GB
- Android: 13 (MyOS 13)
- Build: 100241240
- Firmware date: 2025-09-21
- System app path: /system/priv-app/JTYDN-PAD
WHAT I'VE ALREADY TRIED:
- ADB bloatware removal (partially successful)
- Google Play Services installation via ADB (gsf, gms, vending)
- GMS fails with SecurityException: FLAG_SINGLE_USER permission
denied — firmware deliberately blocks INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS
- Fastboot access works but returns empty variables — non-standard
Unisoc implementation
- OEM unlocking is toggled ON in developer options
- Bootloader unlock via fastboot oem unlock not supported
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR:
A custom ROM for this device (anything that gets Google
Services working)
A way to unlock the bootloader on Unisoc T760
An official or leaked ZTE PAC firmware file for W205DS/P720P01
Any method to grant Google Play Services the system permissions
it needs (INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS, FLAG_SINGLE_USER)
Anyone who has dealt with China Telecom cloud tablets before
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- Very little community support exists for this device
- Aurora Store works fine, but Google apps are unusable
- The cloud launcher package is: cm.komect.aqb.android.cloudcomputerpad
- Device shows up correctly in ADB and fastboot
Any help, pointers, or even similar device experience by would be greatly appreciated. Happy to provide any additional logs or information needed.
Thanks!
