Had an interesting experience the other day. I have made at least 15-20 total DRS transfers to computershare over the years. Initially you had to call. Then they were getting so many calls they finally created specific prompts with their automated system.
I have tried to use this automated system recently and kept getting errors saying I had to call. Well I finally got around to calling and talked with 3 separate employees who all "had no idea what DRS or computershare was".
The third employee went to check with "the back office" and after a few holds was told I had to call computershare. I politley.pushed back and told him I had been through this loop years ago. He "went to check one more time with the back office" and then came back and suddenly figured it out. He then later mentioned they had some meetings about this too but he wasnt familiar with it.
Probably nothing but I found it funny that not a single employee had ever heard of DRS or computershare after years of employees knowing exactly what it is.
Anyways, Just curious if anyone else has had pushback like this recently or errors in trying to submit transfers. I finally got it all submitted over the phone but the longer this saga goes on the more doubts I have about shares held in street name in brokers.
Here since 2020 and never leaving. DRS is the way. Com-pooper-chair
