I just finished watching Season 5 after years of ignoring the show. I have a few things I want to discuss. Sorry for the spoilers.
- Felix being a sentimonster.
This felt a little like a cop out yet it was pretty satisfying. Since Season 4, there were speculation about Adrien being a sentimonster since he obeyed Gabriel so blindly. I was always against it. It wouldn't make sense and frankly, it felt pretty cruel. So the fact that the creators listened to their audience and gave us Felix as the sentimonster. And the fact that he's in control of the item tied to his existence.
- FRICKING LAYLA
I've hated this girl since the first time she showed up on the show. But I have to admit that her evolution as the side villain is amazing. She gets more infuriating with each episode. And I really loved the way Sabrina and Marinette exposed all of her lies.
- The Season finale
This was heartbreaking. I've never liked Gabriel very much. Not because he was the main villain, but because he was a bad father and as the series went on, he got more blinded with power and achieving his goal. I never expected him to become this crazed maniac, trying to take over the world just to inflict so much pain. So when Marinette as the Bug Noir still wanted to give him a chance and to come up with a solution that would save him and Natalie and wouldn't have horrible consequences, I couldn't believe my eyes. The final punch was when he sacrificed himself. I doubted that there was any good left in him. It was a bitter sweet happy ending.
