I started running in November last year. I did a couch to 5K and ran a 5K in December. I really enjoyed it and wanted to continue.
I had always wanted to run a half marathon, and I figured this would be the year to do it! I turn 40 later this summer, and I was excited to pursue this. I started training in January, and I completed the most basic 16 week half marathon plan (3 runs/week). When I started this, I had never run more than 3 miles. I thoroughly enjoyed the training, and I truly feel like I have drank the Kool-Aid. 🤪
I did my first half marathon this past Saturday, and I finished at 2:24, with a bathroom break at mile six lol. I feel like there’s so much untapped potential, as I have not gotten into anything to support getting better like tempo, speed workouts, strength workouts, etc. I would love to improve and continue running, and I am tentatively planning to run another half marathon in early November. There are about 1 million training plans, coaches, AI plans, etc., and I don’t know where to start to determine how to train smarter. Would love any feedback or advice.
