Out of Province Post-Secondary

Hello everyone :)

So yesterday I logged into my benefits for the first time in around a year and was reminded of the out of province declaration. I checked and discovered that they're sent every month, and I have a lot of missing one's.

This led me to check the rules on studying out of province for post-secondary education, and now I'm a bit worried. Every year I have sent my caseworker my OSAP info which states where I attend university, and at least for last-years one, he said he calculated the budget and everything was fine. So I took this as approval because I thought it was what I had to do.

But reading the rules online, apparently I need explicit approval from my caseworker to be absent for 3 months at a time for post-secondary education. I have never been absent for less than a 2 month period. And for all the monthly declarations I've either never left the province or left for less than 30 days except for November.

My question is if this a situation where I should really panic? In 2022 when I began post-secondary education I informed my caseworker in person about starting university out of province as well.
