Nano cortex clipping advice

Nano cortex clipping advice

Edit: UPDATE! Tried it with my blackstar FRFR cab and it still sounded terrible. Switched out the two OD pedals for my strymon riverside OD and then it magically sounded absolutely fantastic.
It might not be digital clipping but something is definitely weird with how the nano cortex takes the blues driver and hustle drive, cause those two into a twin reverb sound absolutely awesome.

TLDR: clipping noise when using overdrive pedals (physical and on the cortex). Advice?

Hey fellow nano cortex users!
I’m having some real issues with what sounds like digital clipping with overdrive pedals, both physical ones and the ones in the cortex.

I’m using captures of clean amps for some country sounds, those sound great, but as soon as I turn on an overdrive pedal it all falls apart. Take the BD-2 for example, I have the level set to match the volume of my preset, and even if the gain is all the way down it starts clipping. Same thing with the hustle drive and my strymon riverside.

I have tested all pedals into real amps and there it’s not an issue. I’ve tried eliminating patch cables and guitar cables, power cables and slots on my psu. I have an MXR Isobrick atm, and the same happens with my Strymon Zuma.

At this point I’ve only experienced it when using headphones, but I’ve tried running the cortex directly into a focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and into logic with the focusrite as my audio in and out, same issue there. Haven’t been able to try with my frfr yet as I don’t have it at home atm.

Given that it’s not clipping on clean sounds and I’m not getting any clipping from other sources with the same headphones I don’t think it’s the headphones either.
I’m really at a loss here…
