My husband had a full mouth extraction almost 5 weeks ago. He had to go to an oral surgeon because 2 teeth were too close to his sinuses. A few days after the full mouth extraction he was doing a saltwater rinse and realized some water came out his nose. Called the surgeons office and he was seen a few days later, about 8 days after extraction. After husband showed the surgeons which area it was from he said he had a sinus perforation. Wanted to wait a couple weeks to see if it would close on its own. 2 weeks later he’s seen again and they wanted to wait another week and a half to close it. He had the closure procedure done yesterday and he goes back in 2 weeks to see if the closure was successful. If the closure is successful, how soon can he fly? I know the pressure in the plane can affect him. We’re supposed to take a trip at the very end of May and I’m really nervous for him about it. We purposely had the full mouth extraction done 2 months prior to our trip so that he would be healed and have gotten somewhat used to his dentures by this point. He hasn’t even been able to put in the dentures because of all the pain, and now they told him he shouldn’t wear them until after he’s seen in 2 weeks. This has been a nightmare.
