Being sued by LVNV Funding (TX)

I got served today by LVNV Funding who is represented by Scott & Associates. The suit was filed through my local JP precinct and they're demanding a total of 1465.69 for a debt originally through Credit One.

The documents provided were the citation and original petition which lists the amount they're suing me for, the attorney, and the last 4 digits of the account number. At the very bottom there's some small text that says "Chain of Title for Assigned Claim" and lists 6 different companies.

I know I need to file an answer, but I'm not sure what to do beyond that or what I need to prepare for.

I'm hesitant on hiring a lawyer because the fees they charge and overall reported performance feels like it's not worth the hassle.

I've done a little research and am aware of the arbitration route, which isn't applicable to me according to the credit one card agreement.

Any insight would be appreciated!
