I made a mistake, and purchased an AllPowers R600 to provide UPS service for a small rack at home. it’s wired to 200W of solar and… won’t use the solar when there’s AC.
Reading more it looks the “ECOFLOW Portable Power Station RIVER 3 (10 ms UPS)” can do what I want to do, prefer solar to try and reclaim some of my spend!
I think I’m reading that the River 3 can use “Backup Reserve” to get close to my goal. Using solar+battery to run the load until it reaches a configurable threshold, and then using AC+solar to top the battery up, before starting that cycle again.
Not quite the DC+AC to run the load I was after, but I now understand that needs a far more expensive controller set up.
My only worry now is (given my R600 mistake…) have I got the right for the River 3? and what’s this contestant charge/discharge cycle going to do to its life? Anyone else doing this?
Thanks for any guidance!
