Family Poverty

My family is so poor, and I feel so alone. This isn’t a hatred towards them, but all of my friends can afford everything and my family just can’t. I’m from Canada, and I’ve been out of the province once for a school trip that was funded by my grandmother and we payed her back very slowly. But everyone I know has been on vacation or stayed in a hotel, hell I haven’t even been to a motel.

And besides vacations, even streaming platforms like Netflix we can’t afford. Back to school shopping is very paycheque to paycheque and it’s just the necessities like pencils. Or another example is that I really wanted to go to my friends dance recital, but we couldn’t afford the 60$ that week. One of my parents has an illness, and the other works a low paying job but it covers their medication. One thing of medication is 8k which sounds insane.

How do you get through it? I’m only a teen, and I’m trying to get a job but even then it’s just so difficult.
