New APL research

Hi r/leukemia,

I'm a physician who has served rural communities for most of my career. I recently heard about this trial at a conference. While, I am not part of the study but I'm sharing it because APL is rare, trials like this can be hard to find, and I know patients and families in communities like this are often the ones doing their own research.

The trial: Quetzal Biosciences is running a Phase 3 study in Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) and is actively enrolling patients.

What stood out to me: The investigational therapy is oral, which is a meaningful quality-of-life difference for APL patients who are otherwise dealing with IV-based regimens and frequent clinic visits.

If you or someone you know has APL, here are a few options:

Look up the trial on ClinicalTrials.gov https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT07504458

Bring it up with your oncologist — they can review the protocol and assess whether it fits your situation
