hello guys i am completely new to lawn care and am trying to fix my weed infested centipede lawn. the end goal is to transition over to Bermuda (i haven't decided on what cultivar yet but i want a very fine bladed grass that i can keep low and still look good) i live in the transition area north central Texas not terribly far from the Oklahoma border. so far this is what i have done i have scalped the yard and raked off as much of the clippings as possible because the mower i borrowed didn't have a bag, (i am buying a new mower for myself tomorrow) i laid down a post emergent weed and feed product. quick tangent i might have laid it on hotter than i should have and burned the grass. yet to be seen. i then went in with a dethatching rake and tried to break up the years buildup of old grass clippings. i know i took some stolas but i had to do something because when i looked at my yard it just looked like a sea of wet grass clippings.
question number one pertaining to transition to Bermuda. would it be worth the money (which isn't exactly pouring out of my ears) to buy a pallet of Bermuda sod and more or less turn my lawn into a chess board in the hopes that the Bermuda will out compete the centipede?
question number two how long should i wait after the application of the weed and feed to start on a fertilizer regiment
question number three what are some good products for a home made above ground sprinkler set up i could put on a timer to water my grass in the evenings so it doesnt just cook during the dry summer months
question number three if i did burn my lawn how would i go about fixing it currently my thoughts are to just keep watering the piss out of it
thank you all who read and respond for your time i greatly appreciate any advice given and am looking forward to learning a thing or 12 have a great weekend
