2014 320i

Looking to get a remote start added to it. How difficult is it? Went to the shop I usually go to for this and the guy usually charges like $400. He said for this car I’d need to give up a key and the install would be like $1k. I only have 2 keys so I’d have to get another so all in I’d be looking like $1400. Is he right? Any easier way to do it with coding or something?
