I am currently contemplating whether or not to by powermeter pedals for my roadbike, in order to have a more structured training approach.
Studying the manual of the Favero Assioma pedals I was startle by a safety regulation.
In accordance to the manual and safety instructions you are supposed to check prior every ride if the pedals, the screw in the pedal body and the end-cap are tightened with the correct torque.
For me, this seems somewhat over the top, I guess.
I don’t even have right tools and would go to a bike shop to get the pedals installed.
Also it would require to carry at least one torque wrench along on a multi-day trip, which seems like totally out of place.
Honestly I never checked any pedal prior a ride. I do some checks, but that has never been part of it.
I‘ll guess the bike shop might have look a it, when the bike is there for service.
Is anyone doing such an excessive pre-ride check?
Or is it that Favero just wanting to make sure that they are not liable if something happens?
