Sometimes I leave pending tasks for the next day just to have an excuse to look busy.

There are tasks that I could perfectly finish quickly at work, but several times I leave them “for tomorrow” on purpose.

Not because they are difficult.

Simply because I discovered that the more efficient you are, the more responsibilities start to fall on you.

Now I sometimes save simple things for the next day just to keep up the appearance that I'm always full of work.

I honestly feel a little manipulative for doing that, but I'm also tired of working quickly just meaning getting even more assignments.

I lied saying I didn't know how to cook so I could stop doing it all over the house.

When I moved in with other people at first I cooked a lot because I honestly liked it.

The problem is that little by little it became expected. Suddenly everyone assumed that I was going to cook, ask what was for food or leave dishes to “wash later.”

One day I did something wrong on purpose and started acting like I was really terrible at cooking.

Now I'm rarely asked to cook and I'm honestly relieved every time I see someone else having to do it.
