I’m going on almost a month now since receiving notification that my student loans would be forgiven under the Borrower Defense (BD) Application Processing Discharge, but nothing has actually changed yet on my accounts.

Balances are still showing, no discharge reflected, and no real updates from servicers or DOE.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

How long did it take for your loans to fully clear after you received the approval/discharge notice? Did your balances sit there for weeks or months before anything happened?

I’m starting to wonder if the Department of Education is just severely backlogged or stalling the process. Any insight, timelines, or experiences would be appreciated.
