Tl;dr: recommendation for workflow for a noob with AI to get a multicolor (up to 8 but not a hard requirement tho def preferable) high contrast image to give to hueforge?

Sorry for such the low quality post tbh, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I know I have to make the picture high contrast, I'm not entirely sure if that means grayscale or you keep the colors but just make them more stark. I also haven't used color match mode yet since the YouTube vids I was watching said to do that after learning it generically.

I've done a couple of successful prints of images already in grayscale but I want to print a family portrait and really get our clothes color and different hair colors to come through and I'm a bit overwhelmed and I don't particularly want to deeply learn Photoshop or GIMP.

Does anyone have recommendations for a workflow that involves AI making the picture hueforge compatible? I can do some GIMP cleanup but I'm hoping for AI to get me 90% the way there. Is that possible?

Idk exactly what I'm asking the AI since I'm so new at hueforge. Ie what needs to be what colors or contrast to have it import as a separate region so I can individually color hair for example. Having the background would be good imo but if it's too tough I could always remove it.
