Hey everyone. I’m currently in a relationship where I haven't received any gifts, not even simple ones. I really love him and I truly understand his financial situation, so i’m not looking for anything expensive at all.

However, I’ve noticed that even when things are tight, some people still find small, creative ways to make their partner feel special. To me, it’s about the effort and the thought, not the price tag. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you handle the feeling of being overlooked without sounding materialistic?

I know comparing is bad, but I feel so envious when I see my friends' partners supporting them or finding ways to make them feel special despite a low budget. Maybe it’s about giving value or importance to someone.

In my past relationship, my ex doesnt give me gift or effort to feel special that much. So i’m sad not to also receive effort even small but genuine on my current.

But I love my bf so much, i’m willing to be here on his down times. And I know he is a good guy
