Considering pre-med, should I?

So, I’ve always known I wanted to work in the healthcare field. I’m currently in my sophomore year of college, first I was going into sonography but decided the career didn’t have enough room for growth. Now, I’m a pre-nursing major because of its diversity and have already applied to a few programs.

However, there’s still something in my mind wondering if I should just book it and try going to med-school. The things holding me back is just how much there is to it and I feel like I’m already behind. The shadowing, clinical hours, research experience, the MCAT, etc. But I know if I fully decide to go into this I will find my way with it. Also, even with nursing I was planning on working towards my doctorate after graduation and being a CRNA or NP. However, they are still two very different careers that take a considerable amount of time to complete and I’m conflicted on what the ‘right’ path is and what I really want to do for the rest of my life.
