I'm in the midst of a remodel and there was a wall being removed that was stated as load bearing. It was my understanding that a beam would have to be placed here.

They built temp walls on either side of the double joist in the picture, spent several days cutting a 3 or foot section out, and then replaced it with what you see here. If this is load bearing, my brain can't comprehend how what they did can support the load. It looks as if now only one joist is supporting the load because of the gap/break in the joist they cut.

So yes, an inspector is coming. The contractor did not expect one to come since permitting is not required in my location for a job of this cost. When I told the contractor that an inspector is coming for some reason they stopped all worked.

In the meantime, I'd like to know what your opinion on this is?

The mail app keeps asking me to sign into my email account. I am using a passwordless outlook.com account. Typically I just need to sign in by using authenticator. It will sign in and work, but then a few minutes later asks me to sign in again. Has anyone else experienced this and have you found a fix for it yet?

Hi, I've been using z-wave switches and outlets for several years now. When I installed my Ring cameras and alarm system I moved all my devices over to the Ring alarm hub for sake of having 1 less device in my house.

The ring hub works perfectly fine, but I would like a little more control over my devices. I would like to be able to access advanced parameters of some of the devices and the ring hub only allows the most basic of operation for any wave devices.

I'm looking for a new hub now, I'd rather not spend the money on something before I know if it will be able to do what I want it to do without a lot of trouble. I'd prefer a stand alone unit and not a USB stick but I'm still open to either.

I've been looking at the Hubitate C-8 and while it seems like it is one of the most capable, I'm uncertain because I've not seen any screen shots of a device config page?

What are your recommendations? Are there any hubs that just give access to all the device parameters without additional or custom drivers? I appreciate any help or advice you can give.
