Hi, I'm struggling with Part K of an Australian immigration form. Two years ago I had a parking dispute with a neighbour, it escalated and I got paint on his headlights, resulting in a property damage charge (<$2000 AUD). It was heard at Bankstown Local Court and resulted in a conditional release order without conviction, concluded Sep 2024. I paid ~$150 in court fees, nothing else.
I have to submit my police certificate with the application anyway so they'll see the record regardless. But I'm confused as to what to tick on the form and whether to explain it or not, and how.
For Part K Q36:
- Bullet 1 (charged with offence currently awaiting legal action?) — I was charged but it's fully resolved, so technically No
- Bullet 2 (convicted of an offence?) — the police report explicitly says "w/o conviction", so technically No
Neither bullet point really fits cleanly and I don't wanna mess anything up. What should I tick, and how should I explain it in the notes section?
