Hello,
I am autistic and I also have HS (stage 1.5ish). I really struggle to adhere to a lot of the diets people recommend on here because I have a lot of texture issues with food. I'm not an expert but I've been told that it would be helpful to stop eating nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, ect) and to reduce my sugar intake. I'm also trying to lose some weight at the same time, mostly to help my HS and to help me get more active.
The thing is, potatoes, especially instant mashed potatoes, are one of my comfort foods. I would love to do some sort of mediterranean or paleo type diet, but I cannot eat beans/legumes, some ground meats, and certain fruits because of sensory issues and allergies. Most of the foods I eat now are carb heavy and glutenous foods like white bread, white rice, crackers, cereals, and potatoes. I do eat some other things like celery, eggs, tuna, yogurt, and although I'm iffy with most cream soups, I can handle some stews and noodle soups like pho.
If anyone has any suggestions for HS friendly foods that I could potentially eat, or any suggestions for cuisine types or regional cuisines that are filling and nutritious, but have milder textures, it would be appreciated : >
