I built an AI Detox browser extension to fight cognitive offloading in the AI era
Hey everyone,
I’m currently fighting an ongoing severe health battle, and I originally created this project partly to help fund my medical expenses. What started as a personal idea slowly evolved into something that many people around me found genuinely useful, so I decided to publicly share it.
I built an AI Detox browser extension/program focused on cognitive offloading and the long-term effects of excessive passive AI dependence.
The idea is not “anti-AI.” I use AI every day myself. The goal is to encourage intentional AI use instead of unconscious cognitive outsourcing 24/7.
Some things the extension does:
• Tracks and visualizes AI usage patterns
• Encourages intentional AI use instead of reflex dependency
• Includes short neurocognitive exercises and mental challenges
• Helps users stay cognitively engaged instead of outsourcing every thought to AI
• Lightweight and simple instead of overwhelming productivity spam
• Focused on attention, memory engagement, and active thinking in the AI era
• No ads. No creepy tracking. No selling your data.
There is also a 7-day free trial if you just want to test it first.
I’m still actively improving it, and honest feedback/reviews would genuinely help me a lot — both for improving the tool and making it more trusted/verified for others.
If you genuinely cannot afford it, that’s completely okay. I’m also willing to provide a free 3-month student/professional license to people who need it.
Links are below. Even feedback, feature suggestions, or sharing it helps more than you know. Thank you.
