Shift My Career to Fintech

Hello Reddit.

Currently I have been working in the cannabis scene in Michigan for the last 10 years. I am quite well known in the industry and have a good career even though Michigan cannabis is in a rough spot.

I have a degree in information technology engineering but I never used the degree because I graduated right before covid and lost my IT job I had lined up. At the same time I found this amazing place I work at with great benefits and owners. They have another business that makes billions but they are more interested in keeping me on the cannabis side.

I make $75,000 to $100,000 a year depending on how the business is doing and various other variables. I also live in a low cost of living area and live in the middle of nowhere.

Is it worth it for me to pursue a Master in Fintech or try to transition towards that career path without the degree. Just feeling a little uneasy after being in cannabis for 10 years and watching cannabis companies continue to go out of business and the price of cannabis keeps hitting new lows in the Michigan market.
