Overpayment notice- Appeal or Court?
Hello I am in Minnesota and have a question regarding my situation. My county only has automated system and general receptionists no actual social workers. I am recently divorced as of January. I originally agreed to allow my ex husband to have the marital home until he could buy me out. My 6 year old son had emergency surgery on a tumor 6 days after the agreement and he was going to be wheelchair bound for 2 months, my ex husband and I swapped living arrangements so I could have the home with my 3 children since I needed somewhere more wheelchair friendly. At this time I applied for snap. The mortgage is still in both of our names, he still helps pay some bills and we share an old account that my paychecks do not go into.
I recieved a letter for overpayment I must pay or appear in court due to their investigation stating he lives in the home. Did I do something wrong allowing his help with bills or is this just due to other things like his name on the mortgage, not updated ID or? I tried to speak with the county but they were unhelpful, wouldn't provide information about the finding or about appealing but reassured me he was allowed to help so I am confused. Do I repay or show up in court? Does his income still count against my household because we share a mortgage?
