Pruning help

Hello,

I recently moved into a new place, and there is a large fig tree that had limited pruning through the years. There are a number of large trunks and branches.

I'm looking for a recommendation on the best way to prune this for growth and fruit.

Im in New York and would be pruning in the winter or early spring next year.

As far as I am aware, the best way would be cutting down a few of the large trunks. I would be leaving 2 - 5 of the large/ medium branches, likely four of the nice ones.

Removing the trunks that have damage as well as the ones that are crossing the middle section.

Please let me know which trunks and branches would be best to cut. Also, at what heightand best time of the year.

I'm going to propagate as many of the branches as possible and give them out to anyone interested

One of the pictures is a suggestion I have of which branches I would keep. Branches marked with a green line. I believe I would be cutting them down to 2 - 3 foot stumps.

The remaining trunks would be fully cut down to as low to the ground as possible.

Let me know if this is the best way to care for this beauty.

Thank you for reading any and all suggestions are appreciated.
