Currently daily driving a 2014 2.slow that I’ve got at 85k miles and I’ve driven it up to 150k. I do all my own maintenance and I want to mod my car but it obviously doesn’t make sense to invest performance upgrades into an economy car.

Ideally I want to go with a 2.0t gli but they seem to be kinda hard to come by where I live for the year range I’m looking for (2014-16) but I do see a lot more 1.8t se or sels for sale.

Would it be best to hold out for a gli or should I take the small dip in power for the 1.8t? I don’t plan on doing any crazy mods since I’m already getting a huge power increase, maybe a stage 1 tune and coilovers & sway bar.
