I’m moving to NYC for graduate school. I’m currently on disability so I don’t qualify for the income and employment requirements. However, my parents are willing to co-sign. They meet the guarantor requirements but they live in the Midwest. Will I be able to rent an apartment? What may be some issues I should be prepared for? Will I still need an institutional guarantor? How early out could I secure an apartment if I move in August?
