7900 XTX Nitro+ Deshroud Fits Perfectly in the Fractal Ridge + Phanteks T30-140
I’ve already done some work on this build, including:
- A custom shorter power cable, less bulky than the original one
- Custom lower fan mounts: 2×60 mm fans for the CPU area and 1×60 mm fan for the PSU area. I had to CNC-machine a few millimeters off the two 60 mm fans to avoid interference with the motherboard fan connectors
- Reversed PSU fan orientation for a more coherent airflow path, from bottom to top
- Custom raised magnetic feet, allowing quick removal when I need to fit the PC into a backpack
Planned future improvements:
- Add a separation panel between the CPU and GPU compartments. I’m considering a custom angled design, routed around the PCIe connector, to direct part of the fresh air from the Phanteks fans toward the CPU compartment while preventing any GPU-to-CPU heat transfer
- Make a CPU heatsink shroud with foam seals to better guide the airflow
- Add an interface for wireless remote power-on
- Create a compact, easily removable rear cable organizer to prevent pressure on the cables when the PC is placed against a wall
- Reduce the GPU support lip on the case, as it currently protrudes more than 3 mm past the graphics card
- CNC-machine a wooden front panel and wooden feet with magnetic attachment and possibly small positioning pins
- Improve cable management, and possibly make custom silicone power cables
- Add a third 10 mm fan above the GPU if I manage to reduce the thickness of the power connectors
- Replace the two 10 mm fans with 15 mm ones if I disassemble the GPU and CNC-machine the outer lip, which unnecessarily takes up the extra 5 mm of clearance needed for thicker fans. This last modification is not necessary for now, since my temperatures are still good, so it will probably be done later, possibly at the same time as a GPU repaste.
Any suggestions for further improvements?
