Bigger rear sprocket for heavy tires?
I'm contemplating a set of Trailmax Mission tires for my '21. I want something that's long lasting for road and gravel road use. My previous tires, TKC 70 rocks as great as they are, didn't't last long at all.
With that being said the Missions are the heaviest tire out there. I couldn't find the exact stat but upwards of 4lbs heavier. I'm also going for 150 70 17 as I did on my last tire. I heard the Missions have thick tread so it may be even slightly taller.
Since I'm going for a heavy tire that's also taller, should I increase the rear sprocket to a 43T? I mainly want to keep the gearing pretty close to stock so I don't lose out on acceleration. I don't care about the high revs at highway speeds. I have no problem keeping this bike pinned at 6000k+ on the highway.
