Resident Score
Hey, all. Question about typical Resident Scores in comparison to normal credit score.
My credit score has nosedived in the last year. I was always in the 700-800 ranges, but a divorce, major job change, and just a very rough year in general have landed me at a very depressing 505.
The good news is that my new partner just got an amazing job! But we also now need to move across the country, and finding a place to live with my bad credit score is stressing me out.
We’re now making about 7x the monthly rent of places we’re looking. The money is stable. We are more than set in this regard.
My question is, say a place we really want to move into has a required qualification of a 625+ Resident Score. If my actual credit score is now 505, is it POSSIBLE my Resident Score could be THAT much higher to where we still might qualify? I know there is tons of information you don’t know to weigh in here, just wondering if Resident Score can differ THAT much if I do have a clean rental history and everything like that still.
Just feeling incredibly down and discouraged. We’ve both been struggling/grinding/working so hard. We’re finally in a WAY better situation financially. But the struggles of the last year have just nosedived me, and I’m worried we won’t even be able to find a place to live now where my partner’s amazing new job is.
I dunno. Any info appreciated. Thanks, everyone. Trying to figure out if paying like $200+ to apply to this one apartment is even worth it if my Resident Score is going to get us auto-denied.
