My display failed to detect my pc yesterday. Went through the whole check: tried different cables, different monitors, reseated ram, gpu, cpu, and checked psu pin connectors, even did a cmos reset and drained the 2 pins on the mobo. Still nothing.
Mobo debug code flashes A6 for a quick second then gets stuck on 00. Does that always indicate that it's an issue with cpu?
It's worked fine for a year and a half. Suddenly decided that today was the day.
I'm strongly leaning towards (considering the reports of other users have 9800x3d failures on asrock boards) it being cpu failure, but I don't want to rule out other things just yet.
Maybe it's the psu failing? It's the only component I've never replaced in any of my builds. Never had one fail before, so not sure what the warning signs would be.
Otherwise, anyone have any ideas on what I could do to check? I don't have another amd cpu, so I can't check for sure if it's the 9800 causing the issue. Would hate to rma just to find out it's a separate issue.
My last ditch effort is to re-flash the mobo bios and see if that fixes it. Is there a bios update that fixes the known issue? Maybe that would solve it?
