Hi everyone!
I'm a senior trying to figure out where to go for college. My goal is to go to a t5 med school and I was weighing both of these options to try and figure out which of these is the best for my aspirations. I am out of state for both of these colleges and while cost is a factor, I am putting it low on my deciding factors.
UCLA - definitely more prestigious and so called "t5 feeder". Great bio programs but definitely harder to maintain high grades/secure research positions. However, I have internship experience in a BSL2 lab, so it might be easier research-wise?
Casewestern - less prestigious. Still great programs and easier to maintain high grades + research positions. Closeness to Cleveland clinic is very nice since I want to be a Cardiothoracic surgeon.
UW - somewhat prestigious but unsure of T5 rates. Great bio programs with similar weed out classes that make it difficult to maintain high grades. Big classes make it hard to get a research position, but same thing applies for UCLA. I also know it just lost half of its NIH funding so might be an issue
Rlly having a hard time choosing and dont want to pick CWRU if i were to lose my chance at a top 5 med school. Thanks for the help!
