As a super fan of the franchise and as a person who has 100% completed Revolver, Redemption and Redemption II, I just have to say that although Redemption II is probably gaming's greatest achievement, Redemption 1 has a "feel" and atmosphere that is unmatched to this day. I'm doing another playthrough now after many years and the stranger missions and the music and sound effects really showcase this. The stranger missions have such a unique, uncomfortable feel to them. American Appetites, Jenny's Faith, etc..there is nothing silly or quirky about these and they offer such a dark, uncomfortable narrative of humanity. The "B movie" gritty spaghetti western feel of the world is absolutely brilliant. The soundtrack is truly unmatched. The music that plays after completing a stranger mission is so...unsettling and mysterious. I absolutely love every game in the franchise and Red Dead Redemption II is an all time GOAT in gaming, but I don't know..Redemption 1 may be my favorite. What a masterpiece.
