Any advice how to fix laptop running slowly?
My laptop has suddenly been running horrendously these days. Its an old dell laptop I got in 2020 for the pandemic, and its held up quite well these past few years, but its been really uncooperative these days.
When I turn on the laptop, it takes a while for it to get to the lock screen. And when I open apps ,it slows down like my mouse blips from place to place and lags when I move it sometimes, it takes a while for an app to open when I press on it, I play a few games that have run fine before, but now I have to restart my laptop because the whole screen freezes and I cant move my mouse to close it, and its just stuck as a sandglass on the screen. And a few days ago, the lil multicoloured lines came up on startup and the laptop said it was doing a performance check?
I cant really get a new one and I dont really got any money of my own to fix it, and I dont wanna bother my parents about it. Ive done optimisation and memory checks, checked for viruses multiple times, nothing seems to be wrong. Is there anything else I could do help it run smoother?
