The Handmaid’s Tale (Netflix) — Doesn’t Feel Too Far Off

I’m late to the party and only just hearing about the books now that Netflix launched the series. Honestly, it feels like I’m watching a messed-up episode of Black Mirror where we’re not that far off from reality.

Yes, parts of it are dramatized, but seeing what’s been happening in the U.S. over the past few years, it doesn’t feel like a huge stretch. We had the storming of the Capitol, women’s rights are gradually being taken away, and classic literature is being banned in schools.

Given the current state of the world, this series definitely hits a few nerves.

The Crash (Netflix)- Mackenzie Shirilla did it!

Just finished watching The Crash, and she 100% did it. It seems pretty clear this was a murder-suicide gone wrong. I fully believe she intended to die in that car alongside Dom. It’s incredibly tragic—two lives taken way too young.

I’m not sure she’ll ever truly grow from this experience, especially with how much her parents seem to coddle her instead of holding her accountable for her actions.

The way she spoke to people—her boyfriend, teachers, and even strangers—was disgraceful. The most damning piece of evidence, in my opinion, was her slowing down around that corner and then accelerating for eight straight seconds (especially considering she wasn’t under the influence).

Her lack of remorse after the deaths was honestly alarming—agreeing to brand deals, posting tone-deaf photos… the list goes on. To me, it showed some extremely narcissistic traits.

The roast of Kevin Hart- WTF was that?

Im sorry, but what the hell was that roast? Tom Brady’s was way more entertaining. Shane Gillis was not the right person to host the roast of Kevin Hart—not by a long shot. His jokes flopped, and his weird deadpan humor was just boring in this setting. And why was Regina Hall mean-mugging the entire time? Homegirl did not want to be there.
