9 months ago, my husband kicked me out our apartment, cancelled my Permanent residence process (I'm from the States), drained our joint bank account, cancelled my phone plan, and withheld our marriage certificate so that I was unable to get my drivers license. I was a stay at home wife which is what we agreed upon when we got engaged and I was glad to do so. I went back home (NY) with nothing but the clothes on my back and later on received my dog. I was wondering if anyone can give me any idea of how legally this can play out. I am 3 months out till he can serve me divorce papers. I don't know how to prepare myself at all.
