Holy warpage!

Holy warpage!

Building an ancient airfix A-26 i found at a thrift store for 5 bucks. Putting the engine nacelles together and the warping is the worst I've ever seen. Good thing is this plastic is butter soft so it will bend back and should be fine at least until I try to mate it to the wing.

The RF-4 is complete. The kit decals were junk but the aftermarket ones worked but we're super delicate and thin.

Hasegawa RF-4

Latest completed project. Hasegawa RF-4 with resin /pe cockpit and air intakes and aftermarket decals. Tough build to get it all to fit and the aftermarket decals were super delicate, the kit ones cracked very badly. I did have fun with the detail in the cockpit and the burned metal exhaust

My daughter won us the shotgun in a raffle which happens to be the same model that we have on order for her (she wants the pretty one with wood and metal though). Took it out and shot a few rounds with it and scored her PB at trap (15). She'd been using my benelli pump which was heavier and tired her out quick so in this case, the gun did make the difference. :)

Got this kit off of Marketplace and it included a resin cockpit and seamless intake and engine front as well as aftermarket decals.

This was the biggest resin upgrade I've ever done so it was a bit daunting. A lot of sanding for the cockpit to fit was necessary, so much so that the cockpit floor is transparent and the landing gear bay is super thin as well. But man, the cockpit is super detailed and using pics from real airplanes I got it pretty close and I'm happy.

The intakes required a ton of cutting as the kit had no intake detail and had to make room for it to fit correctly. Lots of resin grinding too to make it fit good. Once glued into place, its really hard to see where the resin and plastic fit. I only needed a bit of sprue glue on the intake to fix my bad cutting skill.

I still have some work to do to finish the kit but im excited with the progress.
