For those of you who have done NICU more than once: how did you mentally steel yourself for this?
I have a beautiful and healthy 6 month old boy, who was born at 32 weeks due to severe pre-eclampsia and spent 7 weeks in NICU.
My husband and I desperately want baby 2, but (for various reasons) I am staring down the barrel of a 50% chance of re-occurrence of pre-eclampsia. I am doing everything in my power to manage this risk, but the thing I really can’t get over is the thought of having a second long stint in NICU.
For those who have done it more than once, how did you get through mentally? Especially if you knew it was probably coming.
