Hi! Looking for some insight and advice from people in the music industry.

My background is in Executive/Personal Assistant roles, supporting entrepreneurs and HNWIs, and I’m looking to transition into the music industry.

I feel like the best route for me would be becoming an assistant to an artist manager since it seems like the perfect position to learn the business, grow, and eventually build a long-term career in the industry.

I recently had the opportunity to connect with a record label and sent over my resume, but right now I’m just waiting to see if any opportunities, assistant roles, or internships open up.

I’m not great at being a sitting duck, so I’d love honest advice, does this seem like a realistic path? Should I keep reaching out to other managers, labels, and industry people instead of waiting? How often are artist managers actually looking for assistants, and is there a better way to break in?

Would really appreciate any insight from people who’ve made a similar transition or work on the management side. Thanks!
