O1 for attorneys
Profile evaluation for O-1 / EB-1A (legal professional with media + publications)
Hi everyone, looking for an honest assessment of my profile and strategy.
Background:
- Foreign-trained lawyer with ~8–10 years of experience
- LL.M. from a U.S. law school
- Currently in the U.S. on a dependent visa
Achievements:
- 20+ published legal articles (mix of online platforms and journals)
- 10+ TV/media appearances as a legal commentator on national news channels
- Invited speaker and judge at multiple academic/legal events
- Prior U.S. legal experience (court/firm setting)
O-1 plan:
- Intending to apply based on:
- media recognition
- authorship
- speaking/judging
- Considering agent-based structure due to mixed work (legal + media + speaking)
Questions:
Does this look strong for O-1 approval with premium processing?
How common are RFEs for profiles like this?
For EB-1A: worth attempting now, or better to build more U.S.-based recognition first?
Any advice on recommendation letters (U.S. vs international mix)?
Appreciate candid feedback—thanks in advance.
