Want to pursue corporate law and need honest advice

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in school and I’ve recently become really interested in pursuing corporate law in India. I’m planning to take the commerce stream and eventually prepare for CLAT to try for a good NLU.

What attracts me to corporate law is the combination of business, legal strategy, contracts, negotiations, and working with big companies. I’ve been researching firms, placements, and career growth, but I still want realistic advice from people who are actually studying law or working in the field.

I wanted to ask:

How difficult is the journey from CLAT prep to getting into a good corporate law firm?

What skills matter the most besides academics?

Is corporate law as stressful as people say?

What should I start doing now while I’m still in school?

Are internships and networking really that important?

Any mistakes you wish you had avoided earlier?

I’d really appreciate honest opinions — both the positives and the harsh realities. Thanks!
