Early days still this season but my 15 y/o son is raking. 6 for 11 so far - all extra base hits on the big field. I'm pleased obviously but it seems to me his bat is way too vertical at launch. I've been gently telling him he needs to load more and that the barrel should be pointing more towards his head. But he says he's not comfortable doing that. Given his current results I don't want to push it but I'm concerned that this swing won't play at a higher level. Am I right to be concerned? Any advice appreciated.
