Just a couple of tips for those going to Mexico City games.
Mexico City summers are the rainy season. Most afternoons, it'll rain. It can still get warm, but it will also cool down. A light rain jacket should be good.
Right now, there's pushback from the Taxi Union at the airport, and they are not allowing Ubers. Uber will let you order a ride, but your driver will most likely text you to meet at hotel Camino Real (cross the pedestrian bridge in terminal 1) or the roundabout outside of Terminal 2.
If you want to go to Frida's house, tickets sell out months in advance, so I would get them now.
To each their own, but the Michelin Star taco spot El Califa, is not worth it in my opinion. Or really any of the hyped social media spots. There's great food everywhere, don't waste your time in line.
You can use the tap water to brush your teeth and whatnot, but best not for drinking. Aim for purified water, or you'll probably get an upset tummy
Artisan markets are great and have incredible artists. Don't haggle with the 80 year old woman who hand-painted a jaguar she moulded with her bare hands and traveled 500 miles to sell. Pay what they ask
Be nice. Right now there's a lot of resentment in the city because there's been a lot of attention to making the city "comfortable" for tourists, like telling locals to stay in their houses, closing one of the lanes on one of the major highways to be exclusively for tourists, and extending metro hours for visitors, but not for the workers who have daily 3-hour commutes. Don't be the reason tensions finally boil over.
